Red Theme

I challenged my self to make a red themed card & not use red cardstock as the base. I think it worked out well. The kraft base brings out the colour & I used some orange & purple to bring in some contrast. But I added some red mirco beads to the orange flower as the colour started to dominate & it was meant to be a red theme.
My favorite part was finding the chipboard F in my stash. it was a browny colour with white spots but I coloured it with ink & it really suited the whole card.

Embossing Resist: Scrapbook Page

I used clear embossing to make the title (Making Memories Alpha) and the water splash (ISC) then painted over using the credit card technique. By spritzing the paint with water it created this great water fight background, great for these photos. I love how the clear embossing makes the title and water splash show up.

Art Doll

I am in an art doll swap and what better excuse is there then to play with all the stuff you have? I used Opals (Pipe dream ink) for the body and a texture plate was pressed into this while still warm. The wings are grungeboard which I painted embossed and highlighted. The face is paper clay cheap kids stuff actually but works real well. More grunge board and flowers were added to embellish along with some braid that had a nice fringe too it. Overall it was fun to make which is the important thing.

Old Wall Paper

This is a technique not me using old wall paper but that you can do also.

This is really simple, swipe embossed cardstock with dye inks spritz with water. I used Tim Holtz Ditress inks as they tend to show through other colours. I used one colour first let it dy then used another colour.

It worked out well.

Easy Easel Cards

These really are quick and easy cards. For the circle card I used a circle cutter and for the other two I used the sizzix top notch die to cut and make the cards.
The base of the card is double of the easel panel. To make fold cardstock in half and cut out (making sure there is a join on top) fold the top half in half again, this is where you will attach the panel. You can use any size or shape as long it is symmetrical, this makes it easy to fold in half.

Skater Boi

I made these two cut birthday cards for my nephew, one from me the other from his parents. Both cards are construction cards and both use the image skater Ian from The Greeting Farm. The card on the left is a spinner card and uses coins as a weight which allows the skater to do three sixties off his skate ramp. The card on the right is a ribbon slider card, pull the ribbon to the right or left and the skater will slide along. Kids and teens love these types of cards as they are fun to play with. The backgrounds were created to by pressing the cuttlebug embossing plate with dye ink onto the cardstock and spritzing with water. I also spritz the slider card with blue glimmer mist. This made some very grungy backgrounds.

Journey ATC

Front                                                                                                   Back

On Saturday I did a meet and greet with other onliners that I’m in a yahoo group with and created this ATC to swap with. I got some great ATC’s back and hopefully they liked mine. On the front I used a free stamp obtained through the Craft Stamper magazine (designed by Art Journey, so the name of the ATC is relevant) and the background is made using a text stamp and a corner flourish, some paint and some blue glimmer mist for added sparkle. Considering I did 30 over two nights (finishing up only the night before the swap) I think I did well. The back is a stamp from Cat's Life Press and it's just as nice as the front, if I had more time I would of coloured it in and done something with it. Please note I've edited out some personal details with photoshop.
